The reconstruction of the Bronx River Greenway between Unionport Road and Allerton Avenue in the Bronx involves the improvement and reconstruction of the existing pedestrian and bicycle paths in Bronx Park, and construction of new paths and street crossings where they are needed. The renovated paths provide continuous access to the Bronx River Greeway which benefits local Bronx communities, New York City, and regional residents by providing a key pedestrian/bicycle link to existing and proposed Greenway/bicycle routes. The design also includes much needed stormwater management and erosion control techniques such as bio-swales, infiltration basins and planted slope stabilization.
